Sample Wedding Thank You Wording

If the engagement is broken off, normally all wedding gifts should be returned. Don't feel obliged to go into the reasons and write a long letter, a brief note is enough. Normally the bride-to-be would write to her family and the groom-to-be to his.

Peter and I have decided to call off our engagement. Although this may come as a surprise to you both, we are both glad that we have come to this decision before the wedding actually took place.

Thank you both for the beautiful crystal vase you gave us as a wedding gift, however, I am sure you can understand why I feel I must return it to you.

Wedding Thank You Wording For
A Broken Wedding Gift

It is very sad when a gift gets broken. However, I personally think it best not to tell the giver. Doing so would only make them feel awkward and disappointed. If the gift was sent direct from a shop then contact them, but if not, send a thank you note to the giver without mentioning that it is broken.

A Duplicate Wedding Gift

Of course it is annoying to receive duplicate gifts. It is almost invevitable that you will receive more than one of the same item. You may have received 3 toasters and 4 kettles, however, there is nothing wrong in exchanging duplicate gifts. Send your thanks for the gift given and not what you actually exchanged it for.
