Boss Day is celebrated in the UK on 24th March and in the USA on 16th October each year.

Boss appreciation day dates back to 1958 when Patricia Bays Haroski, an employee at State Farm Insurance Company in Deerfield, Ill., registered the holiday with the Chamber of Commerce of the United States.

She chose October 16th because it was her father's birthday. The purpose of the day was to show appreciation for her boss and other bosses.

Thank You To Your Boss

Sending or giving a thank you note or boss day greeting card is the most popular way of thanking the boss. You may also like to include a gift of chocolates, a book or a small gift basket. Obviously it depends on how familiar you are with your boss as to the wording you write.
